Terraces and gardens

We love plants and changing the primary purpose of objects and tools. You will notice it in the outdoor area of the Grand Gite de Chartres where the spaces have different atmospheres:

• The planted path from the car park to the house provides privacy to the swimming pool(lien à faire). The south facing plants are in white, blue and pink shades from Spring to Autumn: spirea, lavender, globe thistle and pink climbing roses. They are surrounded by well-established olive tree, cypress tree and palm tree.

• Still in the making is the Square Garden, that can be accessed to from the car park by few steps made from stone of Bercheres that is a limestone that has been used to build the Cathedrale of Chartres in Eure et Loir.

• The deck between the south facing wall of the house and the swimming pool, ideal to gather friends and members of your tribe for a soak in the sun, an aperitif, while others will prefer to play a tennis table game.

• The Stone Terrace, next to the kitchen and BBQ( lien à faire avec kitchen ) where to share meals and games with nice weather

• Some of you will enjoy the shade given by the arbor covered by clematis, honeysuckle, and wisteria and enjoy its beautiful scent!

• The vegetable garden has an unusual design as it is growing in old containers such as bath, animal trough, and buckets. According to the season you will be able to pick salads, strawberries and herbs.

• The Zen Garden has been created for our guests to add to the relaxing field you see from the spa (lien à faire avec spa). It is inspired from the Japanese garden and is made from materials and vegetation: river stones, gravels, water fountain, camellias, and bamboos.

We added a reminder  Labyrinth to the one of the cathedral of Chartres in Eure et Loir ( lien à faire with visits), that we strongly recommend you to visit during your stay.
